Ski Gear
Ski gear is very easy to locate the closer a person gets
to the mountains, but it also gets more expensive. A ski shop that is
right next to the ski lifts will cost much more than a shop located
in a metropolitan area far away from any ski resorts. Stores further
from the mountains may not have as good of a selection however so it
is important to know what gear is needed.
Ski gear for beginners is relatively simple, light and easy to use.
It is also the most prevalent with many new skiers learning how to ski
every season. Used equipment is okay if it is thoroughly check out for
flaws and damage. This is an excellent choice for beginners because
the gear is cheaper and often lightly used however it is important to
get a proper fit, especially for the boots.
Ski gear for intermediate to advanced skiers gets a little bit more
technical. There are different skis for different terrains so it is
important to asses the ability of the skier. Many advanced skiers have
multiple pairs of skis for each snow condition whether it is powder,
groomed runs, icy runs, and even for choppy conditions. Getting a proper
boot fit is the most important aspect so dropping more money on boots
is better than buying the best skis.
