Ski Jacket

A ski jacket is an important part of a skiing set-up. Other than the equipment actually used to ski the jacket is the most important part. For survival in a cold environment it is the only necessary part, along with warm pants, gloves, hat and foot protection. They are typically water proof although many cheaper one are only water resistant and will get wet in severe weather.

Other features to look for in a ski jacket are comfortable insulation. Many have a removable insulated liner that can be taken out on warmer days. The best way to stay warm on a cold snowy day is to have many different layers that can be taken off and added depending on how much energy the skier exerts. Actively skiing on a cold day can easily keep most skiers warm.

A ski jacket can be found at many sports stores as well as thrift and department stores. The styles and colors are endless and constantly evolving with the latest fashion trends. Many jackets have features such as water pouches and hoses for healthy hydration and touch sensitive music player controls. Some even have battery powered heating sources for extreme comfort.
